Forklift cylinders come in two types and sizes. Most customers have the private forklift cylinder that has a refill valve with a gas level gauge that has a float inside to indicate to the driver how much LPG he has left in his forklift cylinder.
These private cylinders are very expensive and time consuming to refill but do offer a few additional benefits like the gas level gauge. Stargas / Oryx fork lift cylinder have been brought into the market to aid customers in covering the short fall on the private FLT cylinder and making these FLT cylinders More affordable to the customer.
The deposit forklift cylinders do not have a gauge but due to the price being about 8-10 times cheaper than private cylinders most customers keep a back up cylinder in stock. It must be noted that a forklift cylinder must be installed as directed on the cylinder as the suction pipe inside is not straight like in most cylinders, the forklift cylinder pipe is designed to suck from the bottom of the cylinder when it is on its side.(Therefore the bottom is actually the side due to the cylinder lying down)
All forklift cylinders should be refilled by reputable, legal suppliers like Stargas that take safety seriously as these companies will have your cylinder leak tested, pressure tested and validated when needed. Stargas will then replace the cylinder with a fully validated cylinder free of charge and without the customer even knowing this has taken place.
